So it wasn't bad enough that our landlord straight-up lied to us, telling us there were no children at all in the complex, when there are five to sometimes fifteen gathered every other night screaming in the courtyard. Nor was having a racist, hateful next-door neighbor who delights in pissing me off.
Now it turns out, I live in gang territory, to top everything off!

Apparently there are two rival gangs, and they meet one or two blocks away from our apartment. Not to mention the 18th street gang symbol that was spray-painted on one of our garage doors a couple months ago.
I'm worried and all that, but more than anything I'm pissed off. Fucking ignorance and pride, what the fuck. People are so goddamn stupid!!!! But I already knew that...
I should have known a $1395 huge two-bedroom with hard-wood floors, a long balcony, and three-car parking was too good to be true. And it sucks because Tim and I have it set up so cool; we've really gotten comfortable. But I can't afford to lose my safety deposit anyway, so we'll have to stay until June. Luckily, I've got money saved up, and hopefully I can find a nice place in Los Feliz or Silverlake, or at least Hollywood. |

Tonight I play at a "world-famous" venue that has hosted the likes of Bob Dylan, The Byrds, and Tom Waits.
Course, that's only after Tim and I hit St. Vincent's for furniture for our new apartment! |
